Vivo Energy Kenya recently revealed Shell’s latest retail hub concept.

The new model of service station was launched on the capital city of Nairobi’s Dennis Pritt Road. With a retail-focused concept, it is designed to act as a destination centre for drivers, but also includes a dedicated lubricant bay, alongside other amenities like a car wash and pharmacy.

The new concept aims to position Shell service stations as more than simply a place to fuel up and is part of a wider strategy. Vivo Energy Kenya and Shell are committed to growing and modernising the current network of service stations throughout Kenya. The station will be stocked with liquified petroleum gas (LPG), fuels and lubricants, and operates alongside an ArtCaffe Market convenience store and rapid-service restaurant.

CEO at Vivo Energy Group, Stan Mittelman, commented that in supplying quality services customised to consumer requirements onsite, the multi-purpose forecourt has already become a ‘one-stop-shop’ location, used regularly to meet everyday needs. Mittelman added that Vivo Energy is continuing its investment in modernising sites to offer improved customer experience and convenience.

In Kenya, the company is the exclusive distributor and licensee of Shell fuels, LPG and lubricants carrying the Shell brand. The station’s new lubricant bay will be well-stocked with a range of essential maintenance products developed and supplied by Shell including engine oil, brake fluid, gear oil, coolant, automatic transmission fluid (ATF), grease and synthetic lubricants specially designed to work with electric vehicle (EV) technology.

There are currently over 340 Shell service stations in Kenya.
