Lubricant maker Mobil has given NASCAR fans an additional reason to cheer by offering them the chance of a prize every time a driver wins when using its Mobil 1 synthetic passenger car engine oil.

Interested fans can sign up for Mobil 1 Thousand for free on a dedicated website. If a Mobil 1 driver wins in a particular week, one lucky winner will receive a $1,000 prize. If not, the jackpot will be rolled over to the next competition. Teams using Mobil 1 had already won six times in the season prior to the launch of the competition, so Mobil decided to add $6,000 to the jackpot for May 23, making it $7,000. Mobil has also announced a new paint scheme for the Mobil 1 teams to accompany the new promotion, which was inspired by the bottle design for Mobil 1 Extended Performance.

According to Business Wire, ExxonMobil’s Consumer Marketing Manager for North America, Bryce Huschka, said about the sweepstake:

“We have a long and decorated history with NASCAR as the ‘Official Motor Oil’ of the league, and we are in a unique position to provide our team partners with a competitive advantage on the track each week. We help teams win, and now we want to help fans win, too.”

Huschka added that the promotion will help bring publicity for its partner teams who use its Mobil 1 technology on the racetrack by giving fans a chance to win with them. He also said that “once-in-a-lifetime” opportunities and experiences will be added as prizes later in the summer.
