From metalworking fluids to penetrating oils, Scottish family-run firm Tygris in North Ayrshire is renowned for producing high-quality industrial lubricants. Now, after partnering with a strategic marketing agency based in Aberdeen called bspoq, the provider of lubrication solutions has widened its reach to the United States, and is enjoying a substantial hike in online revenue.
The firm’s success follows the implementation of a new website, a digital sales strategy and company rebranding. The partnership between Tygris and bspoq has allowed it to enhance brand awareness and improve customer acquisition. This includes both distributors and end-users.
Tygris was founded more than half a century ago in North Ayrshire’s Irvine. It supplies state-of-the-art protection, cleaning and lubrication products and services like greases, aerosols and oils that can increase mechanical efficiency, while decreasing downtime and maintenance times for industrial equipment.
Operating in an exceptionally competitive landscape in multiple sectors, Tygris adopted an online approach to sales and marketing that involved it moving away from conventional methods.
It now has a fully functional ecommerce website, which was originally designed by bspoq back in 2020 and was rebuilt in 2024. The cutting-edge site integrates with its different providers and partners, which include Klaviyo and BigCommerce, to highlight the firm’s considerable portfolio of products.
As part of its plans, Tygris has recently opened an American branch in New Jersey to support its wider strategy for growth. The move marks the firm’s first global expansion activity in the five decades it has operated, with bspoq supplying all marketing collateral and literature.
