BP, which has been one of the BWT Alpine F1 Team’s technical partners since 2017, has signed a new agreement with the Formula 1 team.

This will see it deploy its leading technology at the team’s Enstone, Oxfordshire site, where much of the activity for its Formula 1 cars takes place.

BP, which also makes Castrol lubricant and grease products for the automotive industry, will deploy its DIGBOX technology as part of the agreement. This cutting-edge technology comprises tools to measure and analyse data about power consumption in order to identify potential to optimise energy efficiency.

BP says the technology’s smart “spotter” algorithms can search data in real time and help inform building behaviours with the aim of making more resilient, energy efficient machines.

BP’s senior vice president for marketing products, Nicola Buck, said that the company was excited to announce a new chapter in its technical partnership with the BWT Alpine F1 Team, adding:

“Our experience working with BWT Alpine F1 Team is a testament to how we can use our integrated approach, expertise, and technology to help empower the team to meet its sustainability goals and continue to contribute to their ongoing quest for excellence on and off the racetrack.”

In the press release, BP said it is already busy with developing new fuels to meet the FIA Technical Regulations’ requirements for 100% sustainability. It hopes to have these ready well in advance for the Alpine F1 team to take part in 2026 Formula 1 events.
