Respected lubricant brand Castrol was recently the title sponsor for a major racing festival in India.

The Valley Run is an iconic drag race that takes place bi-annually in the township of Aamby Valley and regularly attracts over 7,000 racing enthusiasts and 700 skilled entrants.

Castrol India showcased the full extent of its lubricant performance arsenal at the recent event, drawing attention to the BP-owned brand’s premium solutions. These are designed to provide protection and lubrication in cutting-edge machinery operating at maximum capacity.

Held on Aamby Valley’s airstrip, the adrenaline-fuelled event put the latest lubricants to the test with various races ranging from stunting and drifting to mud drags and classic drag races, performed by nitro-powered supercars and superbikes.

Rohit Talwar, Castrol India’s vice president of marketing, commented on the brand’s role as title sponsor:

“We’re happy to continue our association with The Valley Run after a debut as title sponsor in the 2024 winter edition. The event’s energy, precision and passion for performance closely reflects Castrol’s DNA.”

He added that Castrol’s sponsorship lets it engage with the growing motorsports community in India in a meaningful way.

The event, which ran from April 11 to 13, was the 14th incarnation of the famous race to date, and saw the “Castrol Performance Pitstop” play a pivotal role. The mobile workshop was at the epicentre of the three-day racing carnival, providing practical tuner sessions, expert dyno testing and a “Drag Racing School” led by Rickey Gadson, the iconic international drag racer and champion.
