Industry award-winning manufacturer, Morris Lubricants, recently participated in a football match to raise much-need funds for the Lingen Davies Cancer Support Charity.

The company’s team, comprised of employees, took on fellow Shropshire enterprise, Salop Leisure, to support the local non-profit, which plays a crucial role in the community. The registered charity funds and aids projects that improve treatment and care while also supplying ongoing support and critical relief to people living with cancer.

Based in Shrewsbury, Morris Lubricants has blended and manufactured high-quality lubricants since 1869. Today, it is recognised for being one of the largest private lubricant businesses in Europe, with an extensive range of cutting-edge oils, greases and fluids in its portfolio. These include, but aren’t limited to, spindle oil, air compressor oil, hydraulic fluid, extreme pressure (EP) grease and heat transfer fluid.

The friendly match was held at Shrewsbury Town football ground and was well-attended by staff from both businesses, along with their family and friends. Despite their different specialities, Morris Lubricants and Salop Leisure have a longstanding competitiveness and share an interest in supporting worthy causes in the area.

Chief Operations Officer (COO) for Morris Lubricants, Owen Lloyd, proudly scored for his team, providing supporters in the stands with something to cheer about. Ultimately, however, Salop Leisure finished ahead with a score of four goals to one. Although the result didn’t favour Morris Lubricants, the company reported via its website that the real success was everyone coming together to help the Lingen Davies Cancer Support Charity continue its important work.
