Petronas partners with Middle Eastern energy services company

Global energy company Petronas has joined forces with Enersol, the joint venture between Alpha Dhabi and Adnoc Drilling.

A representative for the energy services company based in the Middle East recently announced that the Abu Dhabi arm of Petronas has signed a contract with Deep Well Services (DWS), a business Enersol purchased for its portfolio in 2024.

As per the new deal, DWS will supply its BoreSite systems and Hydraulic Completion Units (HCUs) to support a Petronas programme with 12 wells based in the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

This news also marks the first contract for DWS in the UAE and underscore’s Enersol’s stated plans to advance intelligent energy technologies driven by data in the region.

Chief Executive Officer for Enersol, Dean Watson, commented that the agreement was a substantial milestone for its portfolio company and a proud achievement for the entire Enersol group. He said that through data integration and systems assisted by artificial intelligence (AI) and automation, Enersol was redefining the effectiveness of its operations. He added that the entry of DWS into the UAE was a strong demonstration of the group’s ability to supply, innovate and perform, creating local value.

CEO for Petronas Abu Dhabi, Max Vorobiev, also commented on the agreement, praising the real-time insights and automation that DWS offered. Headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Petronas is the state-owned oil and gas company of Malaysia and an international operator. It also runs Petronas Lubricants, formulating high-quality solutions ranging from grease to gear oil.
