Leading independent lubricant manufacturer Fuchs has extended its presence in South Africa with a new branch opening in Polokwane.

The move is designed to support customers in multiple sectors like agriculture, industrial and mining operating in the city and its surrounding areas.

With a comprehensive global portfolio that includes more than 10,000 lubricants, Fuchs has earned a reputation for excellence, innovation and dependability. Among its products are hydraulic oil, metalworking fluid, refrigeration compressor oil, heat transfer fluid and agricultural oil.

The new branch represents a substantial milestone in Fuchs’ continuing expansion strategy and reinforces its dedication to supporting core industrial sectors throughout South Africa’s northern regions. Based in the Limpopo Province’s capital city, the site will improve the company’s capacity to offer technical support and high-performance lubricants to its customers.

The province is recognised as a critical economic hub. It houses major mining operations, manufacturing hubs and logistics corridors, as well as provides extensive agricultural production. This means there is a constant need for advanced lubrication solutions that enhance mechanical reliability and efficiency and extend equipment lifespan.

Fuchs’ recent investment in the city of Polokwane comes after several strategic expansions in the last two years. These include infrastructure and capacity upgrades at the Gauteng production facility, distribution network improvements in the Western Cape and the relocation to a new facility in the Eastern Cape’s Gqeberha last year.

These developments together have substantially strengthened the company’s footprint in South Africa and improved how it serves its customers with technical expertise and speed.
