Valvoline Global Operations, an international leader in industrial solutions, recently announced a validation for its lubricant called “Valvoline Restore & Protect”.
The product now has the unique distinction of being the first ever oil to effectively unstick stuck piston rings, mitigating one of the most prominent causes of total engine failure.
Known for its heavy-duty industrial lubricants like agricultural oil, hydraulic oil, gear oil and compressor oil, Valvoline invests heavily in research and development to produce cutting-edge solutions that offer the utmost levels of performance and protection.
Over time and heavy usage, extreme heat typically bakes hard-to-remove deposits onto engine piston rings. Ultimately, this leads these critical components to lock in place. Harmful deposit build-up decreases vehicle power, and more oil is burned, wasting lubricant and slowly destroying the machinery from the inside out.
Now, Valvoline Restore & Protect has become the first engine oil to combat the issue and reverse the process. The lubricant’s formula has been proven to remove up to 100 per cent of deposits on piston rings, revitalising the mechanical health of hardworking and older equipment.
Since the lubricant’s original introduction in 2024, Valvoline Global’s skilled scientists have put many engines to the test. They have subjected them to hundreds of thousands of miles’ worth of lab testing to obtain a complete understanding of Restore & Protect and its long-term benefits. The recent validation is based on intensive testing at the company’s propulsion lab based in Ashland, Kentucky in the USA, as well as physical engine teardowns.
