On the sidelines of the COP28 climate change conference in Dubai, UAE clean-energy company Masdar and energy giant TotalEnergies have conducted a test flight to demonstrate ሜታኖልን ወደ ዘላቂ የአቪዬሽን ነዳጅ (SAF) የመቀየር እምቅ መንገድ።
SAF በተለምዶ እንደ የምግብ ዘይት ካሉ ቆሻሻዎች የተሰራ ሲሆን ከባህላዊ የአቪዬሽን ነዳጅ ጋር ሲነፃፀር የህይወት ዑደት ልቀትን በ 80% ይቀንሳል። የጄት ነዳጅን እንደ ተቆልቋይ መተኪያ መጠቀም ስለሚቻል፣ ቀስ በቀስ ተቀባይነት ማግኘቱ የአቪዬሽን ዘርፉ ዝቅተኛ የካርቦን የበረራ ቴክኖሎጂዎች እስኪበስሉ ድረስ ልቀቱን ለመቀነስ ያስችላል።
ኢኤስኤኤፍ በበኩሉ ታዳሽ ኃይልን በመጠቀም የሚመረተው ሰው ሰራሽ ነዳጅ ነው፣ነገር ግን ከባህላዊ የአቪዬሽን ነዳጅ ጋር ተመሳሳይ የአፈፃፀም ደረጃ ያለው ነው። የአልኮሆል ወደ ጄት ሰው ሰራሽ ፓራፊኒክ ኬሮሴን (ATJ-SPK) መንገድ ቀድሞውኑ ለአለም አቀፍ የአቪዬሽን ነዳጅ መስፈርቶች ተስማሚ ነው ተብሎ ይታሰባል፣ ምንም እንኳን ሚታኖል እንደ ተስማሚ አልኮሆል አልተገለጸም። ሆኖም ሜታኖል ታዳሽ ኃይልን በመጠቀም ሊመረት ይችላል፣ስለዚህ አዲሱ መንገድ ኢኤስኤፍን ውጤታማ ቴክኖሎጂ ለማድረግ ይረዳል።
TotalEnergies’ Chief Executive Officer and Chairman, Patrick Pouyanné, said about this:
