Chevron Lubricants, which markets its products under the Texaco brand in the UK, has introduced a new fully synthetic, high-performance lubricant for the axles and final drives of large haul trucks and other related equipment. The new product, named Delo TorqForce Syn FD-1, has been formulated to outperform conventional offerings while delivering a greater level of protection.

The Commercial Sector Manager at Chevron Lubricants, Jason Gerig, expressed the company’s excitement at introducing Delo TorqForce Syn FD-1, which he said had been created to optimise the reliability and productivity of large haul trucks in the mining industry and other support equipment. He added:

“Chevron strives to provide lubricants with proven performance through rigorous testing for the mining industry. Results for Delo TorqForce Syn FD-1 showed excellent gear wear protection and very strong oxidation control with minimal varnish to extend service intervals from the standard 4,000 hours to 6,000 hours and well beyond.”

The new lubricant claims a number of benefits. It has a large temperature range thanks to excellent pumpability in extremely cold weather and superb performance at high temperatures, making it suitable for year-round use. An advanced additive package also protects against corrosion and rust, reduces wear in gears and bearings under heavy loads, and also prevents varnish and sludge from forming on metal parts. Thanks to good storage stability, superb filterability and exceptional resistance to oxidation at elevated temperatures, the lubricant also maintains its performance for longer, thus reducing the necessary frequency for routine servicing.
