Lubricant maker Fuchs SE has reported strong business results for the first half of the year despite a challenging market environment.
Starting as a family business in 1931, Fuchs has since become the world’s biggest independent provider of advanced industrial solutions like slideway oil and cutting fluid. Its continued growth demonstrates the popularity of its products and services.
Over the first six months of 2026, the company increased its sales revenues by €199 million, with this being split over all regions. While the business’ organic expansion is partly responsible, the company also noted supply issues in the market and pre-buying effects as driving growth.
Some €25 million in external growth was also attributed to acquiring the sole interest in a Turkish prior joint venture.
Fuchs’ executive board chairman, Stefan Fuchs, said that following a good first quarter:
“…our business performance accelerated further in the second quarter. In the first half of the year, we increased our sales revenues by 11% to EUR 2,003 million and raised EBIT by 24% to €260 million. This was driven in particular by strong sales growth across all three world regions.”
He added that while the situation in the Middle East had posed challenges, supplying its customers had been a top priority. He said that thanks to the commitment of its team and its worldwide procurement and production network, the company had managed to sustain its supply capacity. While the disruption to major supply routes continues to pose major challenges, he expressed his belief that Fuchs was well-positioned to find solutions for customers.
