Speciality chemicals manufacturer Lubrizol has announced improvements to its innovation centre in South-East Asia.
The centre is based in Singapore to primarily meet the evolving market needs of the region. It is also an integrated element of the company’s worldwide network for driving innovation, advancing relevant breakthroughs for the market and furthering collaboration. Lubrizol, which makes the Icematic and Emkarate refrigeration compressor oil brands, is dedicated to providing high-quality solutions. The centre helps it deliver these faster, not just for South-East Asia but also the wider world.
The Economic Development Board of Singapore supported the establishment of the Southeast Asia Innovation Center as a platform for technological advancement in the region. The capability improvements will build on the company’s ability to provide its customers with cutting-edge speciality solutions for a range of industries, such as coatings, healthcare, life sciences, energy storage, packaging and electronics.
Lubrizol’s chief technology officer, Julie Edgar, said in a press release:
“Customers need innovation partners who can move with speed, apply deep insights and deliver market relevance. Our extensive technical capabilities at the Southeast Asia Innovation Centre expand our ability to translate scientific expertise into commercial solutions, helping customers solve increasingly complex challenges and accelerate the path from innovation to market impact.”
The company is also establishing Learning Labs Singapore to build on the worldwide programme’s success. This forms a section of its wider ambition to progress future scientific talent through a global initiative for education in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Over 12,000 students have engaged with various learning experiences since the initiative was launched in 2025.
