Global specialist in chemicals, the Lubrizol Corporation has recently worked to create access to clean water for four schools in rural India.

Known for its advanced lubricant and additive formulations, Lubrizol is the parent company of CPI Fluid Engineering and offers cutting edge solutions like heat transfer fluid (HTF) and refrigeration compressor oil via its respected brands Paratherm and Emkarate.

Headquartered in Ohio, USA, the international operator partnered with India’s top CPVC pipe brand Ashirvad Pipes on the project in Maharashtra’s Pune district, with help from the Jal Seva Charitable Foundation.

Now complete, the initiative gives the four government schools water, sanitation and hygiene infrastructure for a safe supply. As a result, each day, more than 26 faculty members and 565 students in the region have access to 13,000 litres of clean water.

In rural parts of Maharashtra on Pune’s outskirts, clean water is seldom available. The four state-run schools teach students from tribal villages and many underserved households. Before the recent work, the educational institutions faced substantial gaps in sanitation infrastructure and safe water access.

Lubrizol has now funded full water and sanitation works, so the programme directly addresses these shortcomings with FlowGuard pipes supplied by Ashirvad by Aliaxis, ensuring a healthier environment for children and teachers.

Spokesperson for Lubrizol, Business Director Binay Agrawal stated that improving environments via safe water access was central to its work, and its well-established collaboration with Ashirvad by Aliaxis allowed it to implement solutions that made a meaningful difference to communities at ground level.
