Renowned for its industrial solutions like gear oil and grease, Petro-Canada is a leading lubricant maker. Recently, the Calgary headquartered company launched a brand-new synthetic diesel engine oil, which has been designed for heavy-duty use.
Dubbed Duron UHP 10W-30, the oil is expected to exceed equipment warranty requirements for API CK-4 and SAE grade specifications.
Petro-Canada category manager, Melissa Mastrocola, commented:
“Duron UHP 10W-30 represents the next step in heavy-duty engine oil technology. With an extensive suite of Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) approvals, owners and operators can be sure that Duron UHP 10W-30 will effectively protect their engines.”
The new lubricant is designed to answer the rigorous demands of the latest heavy-duty engines. According to experts at Petro-Canada, the latest addition to its Duron range has a fully synthetic formulation and demonstrates high performance in many areas.
Operating at high temperatures, the lubricant provides best-in-class oil film strength so it can protect equipment against wear – even under the most strenuous operating conditions – reducing expensive maintenance. It is resistant against breakdown at high temperatures, allowing engines to run cleaner and enjoy better performance levels overall.
Duron works equally well in cold temperatures. It offers improved protection for engines operating at lower temperatures to supply simpler and quicker starts, minimising mechanical wear and providing protection throughout the lubricant’s active service life.
Finally, the synthetic solution is engineered for extended performance over time. It has been formulated to supply superior shear stability and outstanding oxidation stability, extending oil drain intervals and withstanding changes brought on by extreme temperatures. To this end, it offers multiple maintenance benefits with fewer oil changes required, resulting in less mechanical downtime during service.
