ExxonMobil, which is known for its automotive products like Mobil 1 Racing 4T and Mobil Pegasus 1, has been confirmed as the official lubricant, fuel and oil partner of the Red Bull Racing Formula 1 team for 2017.
Under a new agreement, ExxonMobil is set to arm Red Bull with Synergy race fuels and Mobil 1 lubricants. The global oil giant will also provide the team with support and engineering in order to develop futuristic lubes that will improve both gearbox performance and the functioning of race car engines.
Speaking about the new deal, ExxonMobil Fuels, Lubricants and Specialties Marketing Company’s Vice President of Marketing, Matt Bergeron said:
“Red Bull Racing provides a dynamic platform to showcase our advanced, high-performance lubricant and fuels technologies… We are excited about building a relationship with Red Bull Racing’s excellent young drivers who are establishing reputations as competitive racers and who will help showcase our brands to generations of consumers.”
Red Bull Racing race cars will now display the Mobil 1 and Esso brands, as will the overalls and helmets of the race car drivers and the Red Bull Racing Factory, which is located in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire. ExxonMobil branding will also be displayed at trackside events.
The new partnership between Red Bull and ExxonMobil is just the latest deal in Mobil’s 38 years of providing Mobil 1 synthetic lubricants to the Grand Prix racing industry, something for which the company is known to be one of the best suppliers.
