ExxonMobil to promote sustainable solutions at K2022

At K2022 in Düsseldorf, which claims to be the world’s top trade fair for plastics and rubber, energy major ExxonMobil will highlight the benefits of its sustainable solutions.

At the heart of this will be the company’s Exxtend technology for creating certified circular polymers, which can potentially widen the selection of plastic products that are suitable for recycling. Moreover, these polymers can perform just as well as virgin resins, something that is essential when considering recycled material for food packaging.

ExxonMobil claims that its performance polymers can help maintain or even boost performance when combining them with mechanically recycled material, opening up the possibility for more efficient film formulations.

ExxonMobil’s vice president for polyethylene, David Hergenrether, said about this:

“K provides a unique opportunity for ExxonMobil to display and explain our full portfolio of solutions to take on the challenge of sustainability. Working with our customers and the value chain we can make a meaningful difference in the world.”

The company will also be promoting the sustainability benefits of its advanced lubricants for industrial equipment. For example, the Mobil DTE 10 Excel range of hydraulic oil has been shown to improve pump efficiency by up to 6%, leading to lower energy consumption and cost, when compared to conventional equivalents. What is more, a longer service life also means less oil to dispose of.
