ExxonMobil, the company behind products such as Mobilith SHC PM 460 and Mobilux EP 2, has received an endorsement for its Mobil SHC Aware H 46 and Mobil SHC Aware H 68 products, which are part of its Marine Fuels and Lubricants Range.
The endorsement was given by Fincantieri Marine System Division, which is the marine equipment manufacturer of Fincantierie – the Italian shipbuilding company.
ExxonMobil said that industry standard testing confirmed that its Mobil SHC Aware H 68 and Mobil SHC Aware H 46 products both qualify as low maintenance oils, which are able to extend operational life.
All of the Mobil SHC Aware H Series oils also possess excellent resistance to viscosity breakdown, fantastic sheer stability and help to provide long equipment life, according to Mobil, who also claimed that the oils have excellent oxidation and thermal stability, which can help to reduce the amount of maintenance required, as well as reducing costs by aiding system cleanliness and reducing deposits.
The Mobil SHC Aware H series of synthetic hydraulic fluids have been formulated to meet all of the requirements outlined by the U.S. Environmental Agency, to qualify as EALs, and were created for use in hydraulic systems operating under high pressures or loads. They can also aid in extending equipment life and reducing maintenance downtime.
The oils can be used in a wide range of applications, including hydraulic steering systems, marine controllable pitch propeller systems, deck equipment and fin stabilisers, so it is not surprising that they have been given Fincantieri’s seal of approval.
