Leading lubrication solution provider Kluber has showcased its products for the wind power sector at Windergy India 2024.
Choosing the right lubricants is a vital concern in the wind industry, because components often operate under high pressure, temperature and speed.
Kluber says its lubrication solutions keep turbines free from sludge and oxidisation residue, which in turn helps components to last longer and turbines to operate more reliably – meaning less unscheduled downtime for costly repairs.
In a press release, Kluber also said that its plant in India has been designed with energy efficiency and sustainability in mind, adding:
“…the Mysore plant incorporates advanced technologies that optimise production processes and minimise waste. A recent investment of INR 142 Crores (€15.6 million) to expand the facility underscores Klüber Lubrication’s commitment to sustainability. This expansion includes a new production hall with cutting-edge infrastructure, enhancing the plant’s capacity to produce high-quality, eco-friendly lubricants.”
The company highlighted Klubersynth BEM 48-1501, which is an emergency grease that can be incorporated into the operating grease of roller bearings. Kluber claims it delays or avoids damage altogether to bearings, which are critical for turbines to operate smoothly. This, in turn, reduces the need for unscheduled downtime before the next scheduled maintenance.
Kluber also presented Klübersynth BZ 68-400, another grease that has been designed to tackle hardened residues that can also lead to roller bearing damage. The company says that once it is combined effortlessly into the current lubrication system, it effectively breaks down these residues and removes them.
