The world’s biggest independent maker of lubricants, Fuchs, has announced that it will be extending its partnership with L.B. Foster Company, which provides the rail and infrastructure sectors around the world with services and products.
Currently the partnership is limited to the North American market, but under the new agreement, it will be expanded to cover the rail markets of China, Australia and South America. While Fuchs is a well-known player in the lubricant industry, with products like the Fuchs Cassida food-grade lubricant range, L.B. Foster supplies specialised on-board and trackside solutions for managing friction on rail tracks. It uses its pioneering Total Friction Management approach to provide optimal and holistic programmes, to help its customers manage friction on their railways.
The CEO and Chairman of Fuchs Group, Stefan Fuchs, said that expanding the strategic partnership would be clearly beneficial for the rail industry. He said that the people at L.B. Foster have knowledge and expertise that complements that at Fuchs, adding:
“By acting together, we will deliver combined capabilities that place friction modification as a value-added essential on the railways. What cements this strategic partnership is our shared values of trust, respect, reliability and integrity, creating value through innovation and first-class service for customers in certain rail markets.”
The two companies will now work on developing the production of their co-branded grease to meet growing demand in North America and reach new international markets. They will also work together on innovating lubricant technology for the rail sector to improve safety, operational efficiency, and wear on rail and wheels.
