US-based lubricant brand Mobil has increased its presence in the NASCAR motor racing series and other motor sports, thanks to a new deal it has made with Toyota Racing Development (TRD).

The new partnership covers three teams in the NASCAR Cup Series, namely 23XI Racing, Joe Gibbs Racing, and recent addition Legacy Motor Club.

Drivers Bubba Wallace, Christopher Bell, John Hunter Nemechek and Tyler Reddick will wear the Mobil 1 colours. Nemechek already has a history with Mobil, having been sponsored by the brand in the Xfinity Series for 12 races.

Taylor Gray will also wear the Mobil 1 colours in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for the whole of this year’s season. Drivers competing in other series as part of the TRD family will be sponsored by Mobil 1, with these including Isabella Robusto, Brent Crews, Jade Avedisian and Buddy Kofoid.

Mobil’s director of marketing services and global sponsorships at Mobil, Rob Shearer, said that TRD:

“…shares the same passion for performance as we do and, together, we will work to continue to show how the right motor oil can improve on-track performance and provide longevity for consumers’ vehicles. We are proud to compete in many different series and cheer on our racers all season long.”

The extremely demanding conditions of motor racing provide an ideal testbed for lubricant developers like Mobil to develop evermore effective lubricant solutions, with many of the advances making it into the passenger car engine oil and commercial vehicle oil that is used in street vehicles.
