Mobil launches new oil for SUVs

ExxonMobil, under its Mobil lubricant brand, has released a new passenger car engine oil that is specially designed for sports utility vehicles (SUVs).

The new synthetic engine oil Mobil Super SUV Pro meets the A3/B4 Standards of the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) and the SN Plus standard of the American Petroleum Institute (API). Some leading makers of SUVs have also approved it for their SUV models.

Deepankar Banerjee, ExxonMobil Lubricants’ Chief Executive Officer (CEO), said about the new product:

“People are turning to SUVs to more easily manoeuvre through dense traffic, handle bad weather conditions, and drive over rugged terrain. To meet the needs of SUV owners, we are introducing Mobil Super SUV Pro which is specially formulated with active ingredients for SUV engines.”

The CEO added that the new product wasn’t just aimed users of SUVs who tend to navigate rugged terrain, but also daily commuters and even weekend drivers, simplifying the process of maintaining their vehicles. Indeed, SUVs have represented an increasing share of passenger cars being bought.

Mobil claims the new oil provides 79% better protection against engine wear, further engine protection that is heat activated, effectiveness in all weather conditions, fuel conservation in stop-and-go traffic situations, and superior pre-ignition protection at low speeds.

The oil was developed based on Mobil’s century-and-a-half of experience of developing and producing lubricants. It can be bought in 5, 3.5, 1-litre units from Mobil stockists, enabling commuters, enthusiasts and workers who need to travel across harsh terrain to protect their vehicles.
