OKS Spezialschmierstoffe and Kluber Lubrication are uniting under the banner of Freudenberg Chemical Specialities. Both are leading providers of specialist lubricant solutions to the world in their own right.
The two companies do have distinct areas of interest, despite both being leading global players. They will continue to focus on these as independent companies. OKS and Kluber said they are seeking to combine their relative strengths to build a more resilient wider organisation. Their production, sales and research and development are expected to benefit as a result.
OKS will effectively be integrated into Kluber Lubrication’s structures at the start of next year.
Kluber’s executive vice president for sales and marketing, Dr Wolfgang Sammer, said about the deal:
“We aim to serve our customers from a single source. This ensures that our customers benefit from a unified offering that simplifies procurement and enhances service continuity.”
OKS CEO Diana Stirner said her company’s experience combined:
“…with technical trade partners and Kluber’s global sales infrastructure and organisational scale opens up new avenues for growth and tailored solutions worldwide.”
The two companies together produce over 2,000 solutions, thanks to a century and a half of experience. Many of these help industries improve safety in the workplace while also saving resources and energy. The two combined companies will have operations in almost a hundred countries with revenues of over a billion euros and a workforce in excess of 2,600 employees.
The merger is expected to consolidate Kluber’s position as an industrial partner while reinforcing OKS’s position.
