
Malaysian manufacturer Petronas Lubricants International (PLI) recently signed a new partnership agreement with Glide Technology, a local lubricant maker. The concord covers the distribution of high-quality insulating oils via a new brand called “Petronas Tranol Glide”.
Also known as transformer oil, insulating oils perform a critical role in the effective operation of electrical transformers, which in turn are a key element of electrical substations. Through the Petronas Tranol Glide brand, inhibited and uninhibited products will be specifically formulated to meet the demands of the most challenging operations and rigid international standards.
At the recent signing ceremony, Group CEO and managing director at PLI, Khalil Muri commented that Petronas Lubricants’ proven capabilities and expertise in supplying high-quality products and industrial solutions will facilitate the growing requirement of the sector, adding:
“This will enable us to support the growth of the nation’s industrial sector, which has continued on an upward trajectory over the past few decades. The Petronas Tranol Glide range has been developed to sustain and enhance the performance of power systems in support of this growth.”
A local operator in providing gas and oil exploration and premium lubricants, Glide Technology is a respected supplier to transformer manufacturers and utility companies. Through its new agreement with PLI, the company will manufacture the Petronas Tranol Glide brand’s products at its facility based in Shah Alam, Selangor in Malaysia for domestic distribution.
Group President for Glide Technology, Datuk Muhazli Muhamad, was also present at the signing. He commented that the new agreement with Petronas Lubricants marked an important milestone in the company’s path to transformation and growth.
