Shell brings back classic motor oil

The popular Shell X-100 Classic Motor Oil will once again be available in North America thanks to an exclusive agreement between Into Great Brands/MotorKote and Heritage Fuels and Lubricants.

The classic motor oil, which is formulated specifically to meet the requirements of older engines, such as classic cars and vintage vehicles, is an excellent quality Group I mineral oil, which is mixed with antioxidants in order to minimize degradation and the thickening of engine oil.

Speaking about the resurgence of Shell X-100 Classic Motor Oil, Bill Beichner, the CEO of Into Great Brands, said he flet “very honoured” to bring the oil back onto the market.

As well as having large levels of anti-wear additives, the Shell X-100 Classic Motor Oil also features oil film resilience, along with anti-wear protection, which works at large load conditions.

The concentrations of dispersant and detergent in the classic motor oil have even been optimized to protect the engines in older vehicles from humidity changes when in storage, which can be a prime cause of rust and other factors leading to poor performance.

The oil is primarily recommended for use in vintage vehicles, including antique muscle cars and even older tractors and military vehicles, which are unable to function with low-viscosity multigrade engine oils.

Fans of Shell oil products, including Shell Gadus S2 V100 3, Shell Omala S2 G 320 and Shell Tellus S2 M 46, will no doubt be pleased to see this latest addition to the company’s oil portfolio.
