Shell Fleet Solutions launches Accelerate to Zero programme

The business mobility arm of energy firm Shell has launched a new programme to assist fleets in setting and meeting targets for decarbonisation.

With sustainability representing the greatest challenge facing fleets this decade, Shell has brought together various solutions to help tackle the issue of decarbonisation. The Accelerate to Zero programme is adapted to the needs of customers and comprises four steps: helping fleet managers to evaluate and comprehend their present carbon emissions, assessing different decarbonisation options, constructing a strategy for lowering road-based emissions and ultimately making their fleets net-zero emitters. The integration of data is seen as important for giving operators a holistic view of operations.

Shell is investing heavily in mobility solutions, with it offering transmission oil, grease and thermal fluid for electric vehicles, as well as expanding its network of charging points.

Shell’s Senior Vice President for E-mobility and Fleet Solutions, Giorgio Delpiano, said about the new programme:

“Decarbonisation is the biggest priority for fleets worldwide and Shell is committed to help businesses to lower their carbon emissions. As one of the largest players in business mobility, we are introducing this programme to help our customers to build a clear pathway to net-zero emissions for their fleets.”

Delpiano added that helping consumers to be more sustainable and efficient also helps them to succeed in general, which is why the Accelerate to Zero programme should appeal to them. The programme is currently available to Shell’s customers in key European markets, with a global rollout to come next year.
