TotalEnergies, the energy giant, has broadened its partnership with industrial AI (artificial intelligence) pioneer Cognite.
The two companies have already been collaborating for some time. Over the course of three years, Cognite’s AI and industrial data platform will be scaled over TotalEnergies’ entire upstream portfolio, from drilling to production. TotalEnergies, which makes the Total lubricant and coolant range, is seeking to make its vast collection of complex data ready for AI. It believes this will allow it to more readily exploit its data to improve performance at its industrial sites.
More specifically, the initiative will allow it to shorten the lead time for developing new applications and improve the accuracy of its data analysis. It will also speed up the company’s wider adoption of AI. It expects it to be able to visualise its assets more dynamically, so decisions can be better made to improve the operational safety and performance of critical equipment.
TotalEnergies’ president for OneTech, Namita Shah, said about the expanded partnership:

She reinforced the company’s ambition to reliably provide efficient and sustainable energy by strategically leveraging AI and data. By having access to a foundation of data, the company’s teams will be better positioned to gain insights into how to drive operational efficiency.
