TotalEnergies renews and extends automobile partnership

Broad energy company TotalEnergies, the new brand for oil major Total, has announced it has renewed its partnership with multinational automotive manufacturer Stellantis for the Citroën, Peugeot and DS Automobiles brands, as well as having extended it to cover the Vauxhall and Opel brands.

As part of the partnership, Stellantis will first-fill its automobiles with Quartz passenger car engine oil and commercial vehicle oil, which have been developed to ensure reliability, performance and fuel efficiency for the engines of Stellantis’ various brands. Stellantis will also exclusively recommend Quartz lubricants through its after-sales maintenance network.

The renewed partnership also now extends to electric mobility, with Stellantis to use TotalEnergies’ recharging network for its Paris-based car-sharing activities. The companies will also collaborate on developing new fluids and lubricants for electric vehicles and their batteries, as well as development and innovation in other areas of sustainable mobility, such as biofuels and other low-carbon fuels.

According to Business Wire, TotalEnergies’ President of Marketing and Services, Alexis Vovk, expressed the company’s pride at Stellantis choosing to continue its long-standing partnership, adding that TotalEnergies was:

“Pleased to extend this collaboration to electric mobility and to the supply of lubricants for the Opel and Vauxhall brands. By placing the customer more than ever at the heart of our strategies, this renewal illustrates the values shared by both groups: team spirit, performance and taste for innovation.”

Vovk also said that the renewed and enlarged partnership reflected the common goal of achieving universal accessibility to electric mobility and meeting climate-change commitments.
