Morris K Series of Semi-Fluid Grease consists of 3 NLGI grades; Morris K40EP is an NLGI 0, Morris K400EP is an NLGI 00 and Morris K4000EP is an NLGI 000. They are premium quality, semi-fluid greases designed specifically for use in centralised lubrication systems. These semi-fluid greases are suitable for lubricating plain and anti-friction bearings subjected to high load as well as gearboxes that have been designed to operate with a semi-fluid grease as its lubricant.
Features and benefits
Morris K semi-fluid greases have excellent anti-wear and extreme pressure performance and provide great protection against corrosion. The fluid-like properties of each NLGI grade make for a versatile range of centralised lubrication system greases and they are more than capable of being pumped at low temperatures too. This makes them an ideal lubricant for cold start-up.
The manufacturer of these premium quality greases Morris Lubricants recommend their K40EP for use in plain bearings, anti-friction bearings and gears where an NLGI 0 grade has been specified and they also recommend K40EP for agricultural and industrial applications that require the use of a semi-fluid grease, or where a very soft lubricant is essential.
Morris K400EP (NLGI 00) is also suitable for use in gearboxes, such as the gears you would find on power harrows and other agricultural equipment that call for a double-zero grease.
Meanwhile, the NLGI 000 grade product K4000EP meets the requirements of original equipment manufacturers like Daimler Benz, Interlube, MAN, Mecafluid and Vogel for use in their centralised chassis lubricators.
Best practice when using a grease for the first time, would be to check compatibility with the grease already applied and, if necessary, purge the system prior to applying the new grease. Over greasing is a common issue so always apply the correct quantity of grease as recommended by the original equipment manufacturer and take care not to over-lubricate the system. This can cause a variety of problems such as bearing failure and over-heating.
