Avelo Airlines selects Mobil lubricants

US airline Avelo Airlines, the first mainline carrier to come to market in 15 years, has chosen Mobil as its exclusive lubricant supplier. Avelo selected Mobil due to its strong history of developing high-performing aviation lubricants that meet the needs of a wide variety of aircraft and their engines.

Avelo offers ultra-low-cost, single-class air travel through its fleet of Boeing 737-800 aircraft, which are already using Mobil Jet Oil II. It is also currently transitioning to the Mobil HyJet V hydraulic oil and the Mobilgrease 33 grease.

According to Business Wire, Avelo’s Chief Operating Officer, Greg Baden, said about the deal:

“We chose ExxonMobil as our lubricants partner because their experience and reputation in the aviation industry is unmatched. ExxonMobil shares our commitment to excellence, helping us Inspire Travel through everyday low fares. As a trusted brand, we are confident that ExxonMobil can support our needs today and grow with us tomorrow.”

The Sales Director for Global Aviation Lubricants at ExxonMobil, Ali Bakr, expressed the company’s excitement at working with Avelo and inspiring travel. He pointed out that Mobil has been leading the technology for aviation lubricants since 1903.

The multipurpose airframe grease Mobilgrease 33, for example, provides hydrolytic stability and excellent performance while protecting against wear and resisting oxidative and thermal degradation, and the Mobil Jet Oil II has been proven in over five billion hours of operation over half a century. Mobil HyJet V has also been adopted by many major airlines and proved itself in millions of service hours.
