BP celebrates four decades with Meghna Petroleum

British multinational oil and gas company (and owner of the Castrol lubricant brand), BP, and Meghna Petroleum Ltd, the state-run oil company (working under the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation) recently celebrated one of its most longstanding business relationships.

Spanning 40 years, the association has played a key part in the transformation of the lubricants and automobile industry of Bangladesh.

The celebratory event was held in Dhaka, Bangladesh and attended by members of management from Meghna Petroleum and BP. Commenting on the occasion, BP Lubricant’s vice-president of South Asia, Kedar Lele, said:

“Over the last four decades, Meghna Petroleum has played a significant role in establishing BP Lubricants’ brand image, market share, and enhancing BP product accessibility across Bangladesh. With the 40-year milestone, this association continues to soar to new heights of excellence.”

Meghna Petroleum’s managing director, Tipu Sultan, was also available for comment. He stated that the association was built on collaboration, trust and shared success adding that the state-run company was deeply dedicated to supporting BP’ aims in Bangladesh through its strong market presence, extensive network, and proven abilities.

A critical partner for BP, Meghna Petroleum has facilitated the company’s journey to achieve successful product distribution, offering its brand legacy, dealer network, B2B engagement and considerable network of dedicated filling stations.

The recent milestone commemorates the two companies shared journey but also provides the launch point for innovation and future growth.

With a joint-vision and ongoing commitment, BP and Meghna Petroleum are now poised to have an even greater impact on the ever-evolving mobility and energy landscape of Bangladesh.
