Owner of the Mobil Lubricants brand, Exxon Mobil, recently announced it is growing its Formula 1 presence and long-standing agreement with Oracle Red Bull Racing.
The Texas headquartered oil and gas company’s sponsorship will now extend to Visa Cash App Racing Bulls (VCARB). The new collaboration will involve ExxonMobil supplying cutting-edge technical service, custom fuel and access to its advanced lubricant lines, reinforcing its existing support of the Red Bull family.
ExxonMobil’s involvement in Formula 1 racing dated to 1950, when the first race was held at Silverstone in Towcester, UK. This year is the 75th anniversary of the company’s engagement of the sport and the extended commitment is designed to mark the milestone.
The new partnership will see the ExxonMobil company keep pushing past the boundaries of both lubricant and fuel technology in support of the Red Bull-owned teams and their ongoing pursuit of optimal performance.
The expanded collaboration’s cornerstone is ExxonMobil’s next generation “Trackside Laboratory” staffed by a team of specialist technicians. This mobile unit will be present at every Formula 1 Grand Prix this year. The lab’s role is to perform pivotal lubricant and fuel analysis to guarantee regulatory compliance with governing motorsport body Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile’s (FIA) strict standards, and to catch early signs of wear on components to maximise reliability and performance.
Throughout this year’s F1 racing season, Mobil, Mobil 1 and Esso branding will now be prominently displayed on the body decals of the VCARB 02 challenger, as well as the overalls worn by drivers Isack Hadjar and Yuki Tsunoda.
