The world’s largest independent manufacturer of oils, fluids and greases, Fuchs Lubricants, has made a landmark achievement through one of its sub-brands.

A range designed to supply state-of-the-art solutions for the motorcycle market, “Fuchs Silkolene” has become synonymous with performance and protection. Now, the brand has become the first lubricant maker to mass market an engine oil with a plant-based formula and a zero-carbon footprint.

Entitled Fuchs Silkolene Pro 4 Ø, the new offering extends an already impressive line that features lubricants for racing and performance bikes, scooters and everyday rides, plus cleaning and degreasing aerosols, coolant, fuel additives and specialised grease for assembly and bearings.

The new lubricant is plant-derived, high-quality and 100 percent renewable while supplying excellent performance. Its coveted characteristics include outstanding pitting and wear protection, power transmission and clutch performance.

Fuchs Silkolene is dedicated to playing its part in ensuring its products meet the latest standards of sustainability. As such, it is constantly evolving its attitude and approach.

Over time, Fuchs has updated its small-pack range, swapping out conventional plastic bottles for environmentally friendly cardboard packed “Lube Cubes” and one litre pouches. It has also made extensive investments to its UK-based production facility to boost total manufacturing efficiency. As a result, developing more sustainable lubricants was the next logical step for the line.

Fuchs hopes that with its distinctively green colour to match its eco-friendly formula, PRO 4 Ø might encourage a wider movement for greater sustainability in the motorcycle lubricant market in the UK.
