Leading lubricant maker Valvoline has agreed a five-year extension to its collaboration with Hendrick Motorsports.
Under the new agreement, Valvoline will continue to be the racing team’s official lubricant supplier until at least 2027. The company will also continue to be an associate sponsor for the team’s range of Chevrolet racing cars and a primary sponsor of racers William Byron and Kyle Larson, the winner of last year’s NASCAR Cup Series.
In a statement, a Senior Vice President at Valvoline, Heidi Matheys, said about the extended relationship:
“The Valvoline team is thrilled to continue our partnership with Hendrick Motorsports and Hendrick Automotive Group. Our decade-long relationship has driven success both on and off the track. We look forward to driving more wins with the amazing Hendrick organization in the future.”
A user of Valvoline’s products in its racing Chevrolets since 2014, Hendrick Motorsports has since won the driver’s championship of the NASCAR Cup Series three times. Hendrick Automotive Group, which is the largest privately owned car dealership in the United States, with 94 outlets, also prefers to use products like Valvoline’s passenger car engine oil. Indeed, while the demands on lubrication are inevitably extreme under race conditions, experiences on the racetrack can drive the development of superior lubricants for use in everyday passenger vehicles to ensure optimal performance and protect engine components.
The boss of Hendrick Automotive Group and owner of Hendrick Motorsports, Rick Hendrick, said that the team was extremely proud of its relationship with Valvoline due to its dedication to supplying innovative, quality lubricants.
