Leading lubricant supplier Kluber Lubrication has announced a new generation of environmentally conscious lubricants that conform to the REDcert² system of certification.
The company says this marks progress in providing industries with solutions that are more climate conscious without having to compromise performance. It says it is one of the first companies in the world to use mass-balanced raw materials for the production of industrial lubricants, thereby supporting the responsible creation of value and sustainable manufacturing.
The company’s approach involves systematically replacing raw fossil-based materials with alternatives that are certified as being renewable to enhance the end product’s environmental effect. What’s more, by doing this at the first stage of the production process, the company says it can preserve the same level of performance for applications.
Kluber Lubrication’s manager for the product portfolio, Oliver Fassmann, said that the launch of this new generation will initially:
“…focus on the Klubersynth GH 6 gear oil series, covering the most used viscosities and is recognisable by the suffix ‘MB’ for ‘mass balanced’ version. With this new gear oil series based on mass-balanced raw materials, we can offer our customers the proven performance they know from Klubersynth GH 6.”
He added that the GH 6 and GH 6 MB products are equivalent from a performance and chemical perspective. The former is already approved by a wide range of equipment manufacturers. The company is also implementing the REDcert² certification system, which ensures transparency in the supply chain and assures that a certain portion of biomass content has been used in production.
