Morris lubricants celebrates platinum ESG award

For more than a century, Morris Lubricants has served as manufacturer, blender and distributor of lubricants, and it has now won an award for its commitment to sustainability.

Tailored to meet the needs of specific applications, its products range from grease and neat cutting fluid to state-of-the-art mould release oil. All lubricants are formulated to a world-class standard and undergo extensive field trials, meaning products can take as long as seven years to become available on the market. This painstaking care and attention to detail extends to every aspect of Morris Lubricants’ operation and this includes its sustainability aims.

In the last few years, Morris has been working on a plan of action to support its continued efforts to become a more sustainable enterprise and cement its solid commitment to minimise the impact it has on the environment.

Morris’s parent company Paterson Enterprises took a group-wide approach and focused on the criteria set out on the EcoVadis platform. Designed to support firms managing their environmental, social and governance (ESG) risks, the platform also helps them have greater impact at scale while meeting sustainability goals by guiding the improvement of sustainability performance.

A spokesperson of Paterson Enterprises recently announced that it has achieved a 2024 platinum award rating for its operations at the Morris Lubricants Shrewsbury site. The award puts the firm in the top one percent of enterprises evaluated by EcoVadis in the industry globally.

Following on from its successful result, the company has now started work to ensure it retains its platinum award status in 2025.
