Four employees of Shrewsbury-based Morris Lubricants, a manufacturer of oils and other lubricants, are set to take part in a cycling challenge to raise money for Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith, a provider of specialist care and support for children.

Bulk Distributor Billy Salter, Purchasing Manager Owen Lloyd, Blender Kim Marmaras and Marketing Assistant Dan Stanley will participate in the challenge, which will see them cycle about 120 miles, with a total elevation of 4,360 feet, in just one day. Their journey will start at Morris Lubricants’ Shrewsbury headquarters and visit a range of holiday parks owned by Morris Leisure, a sister company, as well as Hope House near Oswestry, before heading back to the headquarters.

In a statement, Morris Lubricants Executive Chairman Andrew Goddard said that it would be a considerable challenge for the team, adding:

“It’s great to see four members of the team coming together to raise money for such a wonderful cause like Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith. We are delighted to support them in this challenge and we would like to wish them the very best of luck for it.”

Goddard will also join the team for the final three miles on a century-old bread bike that the company used to use for grocery deliveries.
