The Indian arm of Shell Lubricants recently honoured International Women’s Day through a new partnership with Maharashtra media group, Sakal.

The two companies joined forces to host a special bike rally under a theme called “Rukna Mushkil Hai” which roughly translates to “It’s hard to stop”.

A celebration of women’s strength, unity and empowerment, the showcase event featured participation from more than 1,000 skilled female riders. Shell Lubricants India Chief Marketing Officer, Amit Ghugre, commented on the recent collaboration, stating that it emphasised the company’s continuing commitment to supporting women. He said:

“This partnership reflects our dedication to empowering women, not just as riders but in all aspects of life. Their unstoppable energy inspires us, and we are honoured to be part of this celebration.”

A further statement by Shell India added that the event is part of a campaign designed to honour and represent new India’s spirit and the vision, hope, determination and passion of modern Indian riders fuelled by Shell’s cutting-edge lubricants. The advertising campaign is aimed at everyday riders in India who see the bikes they ride as more than machines, but partners that support their personal development.

Shell Lubricants is a trusted brand for an extensive array of fluids, greases and oils, with products ranging from food safe mineral-based oils used in manufacturing, to synthetic cutting fluids for the metalworking industry. The leading lubricant maker’s estimated profits for 2024 are expected to be around $24 billion.
