The distributor and marketer of Shell-branded lubricants and fuels in Ghana, Vivo Energy, recently celebrated Earth Day by teaching students in Ghana about how they can fund their basic needs by earning revenue from their waste, something that is consistent with a number of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
Vivo Energy Ghana has a committed team of employees called its Green Champions, which promotes the company’s green initiatives. At the event at La Enobal Basic School, the team showed students how waste could be converted into cash in various ways, such as by upcycling and recycling. They also gave some everyday tips about how they could protect the environment and reduce waste.
Kader Maiga, the Managing Director of Vivo Energy Ghana, said about the event:
“We are delighted to partner with United Way to commemorate Earth Day. At Vivo Energy, we are committed to promoting sustainable waste management practices and protecting the environment. We believe that by working together, we can make a difference and create a more sustainable future for all.”
The school’s head teacher expressed his gratitude to United Way Ghana and Vivo Energies for arranging the event in partnership. He said the students had learned much about how they could make cash by recycling waste, as well as how important it was to safeguard the environment.
At TrAchem, we’re also a distributor of Shell products like Shell Spirax and Shell Tellus, so contact our helpful team if you’re interested in procuring any Shell lubricants.
