Total renews partnership with SRO

Fuel and lubricant producer Total has struck a three-year deal with SRO Motorsports Group, a promoter and organiser of auto racing series around the world. The move will take the existing commercial and technical partnership into its 25th year.

Continuing its engagement since 2007, Total will also sponsor the 24 Hours of Spa, an annual endurance event at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium. The company will also become the exclusive provider of the CORE 50 reference fuel, which is a specialist racing fuel formulated to meet the demands of leading domestic and international racing events, including those supported by SRO Motorsports Group.

In events in the United States, the Total brand will be clearly displayed, while for the Asian and European markets, the company’s Elf branding will be used instead.

Total will also work with SRO to mitigate the effect its racing series has on the environment, demonstrating its dedication to making motorsports sustainable. Two forest-preservation initiatives in Indonesia and Brazil will be used to offset the carbon dioxide emissions from races.

The founder and CEO of SRO Motorsports Group, Stephane Ratel, expressed the group’s joy at extending its successful partnership with Total, adding:

“They have been valued technical and commercial partners for many years, playing an important role in improving our product both on and off the circuit. We were therefore very confident in entrusting them with the fuel supply for all of our series.”

He also expressed pride at SRO joining the carbon-offsetting scheme operated by Total.
