Manufactured by Morris Lubricants, the Morris K Series of multipurpose greases comprise 3 NLGI grades and are premium quality, extreme pressure greases for use in all plain and anti-friction bearings which are subjected to high load and vibration. The three NLGI grades available are as follows:
Morris K41EP Multipurpose Grease – NLGI Grade 1
Morris K42EP Multipurpose Grease – NLGI Grade 2
Morris K43EP Multipurpose Grease – NLGI Grade 3
Semi-fluid grades ranging from NLGI 0 to 000 are also available – See Morris K Series Semi-Fluid Greases.
Benefits of using Morris K Multipurpose Greases
Morris K41EP, K42EP, and K43EP are all used extensively in a wide variety of industrial and automotive applications. These brown lithium soap-based greases are all highly recommended for use in the automotive sector where a multipurpose grease is specified, such as lubrication for wheel bearings or chassis lubrication. Morris K greases can also be highly effective in the mining and construction industries, helping to lubricate off-highway equipment and machinery such as bulldozers, loading shovels, scrapers and truck components.
The EP (extreme pressure) additive in Morris K Series Multipurpose Greases means they are highly effective in applications that are subject to continuous heavy loads and shock loads and can easily be applied using a grease gun or centralised lubrication system.
Best practice when using a grease for the first time, would be to check compatibility with the grease already applied and, if necessary, purge the system prior to applying the new grease.
Over greasing is a common issue so always apply the correct quantity of grease as recommended by the original equipment manufacturer and take care not to over-lubricate the system. This can cause a variety of problems such as bearing failure and over-heating.
