AIngineer, a groundbreaking venture working on industrial AI (artificial intelligence), has teamed up with Microsoft to speed up the rollout of its pioneering AI solutions to heavy and energy industries.
The venture is incubated within the Petronas Innovation Garage (PING). The new partnership was firmed up through the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Lee Kian Seng, the CEO of AIngineer, and Laurence Si, Microsoft’s managing director for Malaysia.
The strategic collaboration will combine the technical prowess of Microsoft with the expertise in industrial AI developed by AIngineer. The overall aim is to commercialise the technology and improve operational efficiency in industry.
The use of high-quality lubricants like gear oil can improve mechanical efficiency, but AI-driven solutions can further improve operational efficiency. The AI copilot of AIngineer is integrated into the daily workflow, having been developed for engineers by engineers. It draws on comprehensive technical information combined with AI technology to inform engineering decisions and thereby reduce maintenance costs, enhance reliability and diagnose issues more rapidly.
Zafirah Bahiyyah M Zulkifli, PING’s CEO, said about the new collaboration:
“Teaming up with a global player like Microsoft is a strong endorsement of AIngineer’s advanced technology capabilities. As a venture incubated by the PING programme, this collaboration demonstrates how the right ecosystem empowers innovation, driving meaningful impact for both the industry and nation.”
The collaboration is not limited to technical matters. Microsoft’s network has global reach through its platforms like AppSource and Azure Marketplace. This will enable AIngineer to reach a wider range of customers around the world.
