Lubrizol presents debut innovation summit for Asia-Pacific market

World

Leading additive manufacturer and international chemicals provider, Lubrizol, recently hosted an event in Shanghai called the “Asia-Pacific Innovation Summit”.

A first for the corporation headquartered in Ohio in the United States, the event gathered over 150 delegates including industry leaders, strategic partners and technical experts. Talks focused on innovation-centred collaborations, fresh trends for material science and the way forward to achieve sustainable expansion in the sector.

The Lubrizol Corporation is the parent company of CPI Fluid Engineering and brands like Emkarate, Icematic, Solest and Paratherm, which supply solutions like state-of-the-art heat transfer fluid (HTF) and refrigeration compressor oil.

As many industries experience structural transformation with a focus on sustainability, market demand is now diversifying. This move is shifting innovation from mainly technology-powered activities to a stronger focus on impact, collaboration and value. Material science is developing into a strategic facilitator that connects applications and innovation, producing value throughout many different industries.

Vice president for the Asia-Pacific arm of Lubrizol, Henry Liu, commented that rapidly developing and diversified market demands were now reshaping conventional industry models. He added that the Asia-Pacific region’s swift-paced innovation and varied markets presented a fertile ground for breakthroughs in the field of material science.

Lubrizol’s expansion in the region includes the creation of a brand-new office in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta, and in Singapore, the opening of the Southeast Asia Innovation Centre. Furthermore, the corporation is growing local production capacity in Shanghai of thermoplastic polyurethane, specifically formulated for medical use.
