Leading lubricant maker Valvoline recently named 3Headed Monster as its creative agency of record (AOR).

The Dallas-based business has been charged with boosting the profile of the company’s Valvoline Instant Oil Change sub-brand while displaying category differentiation.

Valvoline Incorporated awarded the agency the account following a competitive pitching round, and a reveal of its first work is now anticipated this summer, with further creative efforts coming afterwards. The remit of 3Headed Monster includes oversight of creative, strategy and production.

Commenting on its newly acquired account, CEO for 3Headed Monster, Shon Rathbone, said that Valvoline was the type of brand the company appreciates partnering with, citing its understanding that the ultimate strategy to achieve growth relies on doing things correctly. He added that Valvoline’s team was human, driven and dedicated to earning trust on a larger scale.

Valvoline currently has over 2,300 company-operated and franchised service centres across the US and Canada. It also has a comprehensive lubricant line that includes advanced solutions for heavy industry. Products in the range involve transformer oil, industrial gear oil, compressor oil, heat transfer fluid (HTF) and cutting fluid for metalworking operations.

Valvoline’s VP for marketing, Jake Lestan, commented on the recent union, stating that the newly appointed agency stands for strategic power, fearless creativity and has a culture with a genuine appreciation for service and partnership. He added that as the Valvoline brand scales, it requires these qualities to create work that holds attention while never compromising trust or clarity.
