Petro-Canada Lubricants has released a new synthetic, multi-purpose, all-season lubricant for the wet brakes, transmissions, drive lines, and hydraulic systems of heavy-duty equipment in sectors like construction and mining.
According to Petro-Canada Lubricants, PRODURO TO-4+ UHP has been formulated to enhance the performance and maximise the durability of construction and mining equipment, which often operates under severe conditions with high system temperatures. It has been proven to meet the Caterpillar TO-4 specification and boasts improved in-service and high temperature, high shear viscosity.
During a two-year trial involving 25 units across two customer sites, the lubricant was shown to extend the life of equipment by as much as 6%, which represents a significant cost saving for operators. Furthermore, its all-season formulation eliminates the need for seasonal fluid changes without ruining the protection or performance of wet brakes, hydraulic systems, transmissions and drive trains.
Petro-Canada Lubricants’ Sharon Perichak, who manages the company’s marketing for the mining sector, said:
“PRODURO TO-4+ UHP is a game changer. Working closely with our trial partner, we developed this fluid to extend transmission life and hours of service while reducing running costs. For years we have been supporting mining operators and equipment owners to overcome their lubricant challenges and optimise equipment performance.”
She added that a collaborative approach had been key to developing the innovative PRODURO TO-4+ UHP, and expressed her company’s delight at being able to offer operators a new level of protection for their equipment with this transmission oil.
