ExxonMobil launches educational video series on grease

ExxonMobil, which makes greases such as Mobilgrease XHP 222, has launched a series of videos called ‘The Grease Experts’.

The videos feature Toby Hlade and Chris Decker, both of who have over 20 years of experience and are certified by the Society of Tribologists and Lubricant Engineers (STLE), as they provide clear answers to a range of technical questions about grease.

All the considered questions originate from genuine operators, and cover areas like:

• How can viscosity affect the performance of a grease, and furthermore, how should one decide which grease will deliver the correct viscosity?
• How often is re-greasing needed for a particular application? What quantity should you use?
• Industrial greases often have different colours, but does this have anything to do with a grease’s performance?
• Consistency is not the same as viscosity, but what is it? How do you know whether to use a firm or soft grease?

Grease can be a complicated area of lubrication, so if any operators still find they have an outstanding question, they can submit it on the website and receive a timely answer from a lubrication expert at ExxonMobil.

Speaking about the new videos, Pat Kelly, an industrial grease marketing advisor at ExxonMobil Fuels & Lubricants, said:

“With the right insights, operators can make smart decisions about grease to protect their equipment and maximize performance. Our goal is to help provide these insights so operators can optimize their lubrication program.”
