FUCHS launches new commercial engine oil

Lubricant maker FUCHS has launched a new commercial vehicle oil aimed at MAN Euro VI-d engines. The new oil meets the M 3977 specification that MAN published to go with the adoption of the Euro VI-d emissions standard, and to achieve lower exhaust and carbon dioxide emissions, as well as improved fuel efficiency, in some of its Euro VI-d engines. The new specification is not backward with previous specifications, such as MAN M 3677.

According to FUCHS, TITAN CARGO PRO 3977 SAE 5W-20 is based on the latest technology to act as an ultra-high-performance engine oil that meets the MAN M 3977 specification for use in commercial vehicles with a MAN Euro VI-d engine.

The oil delivers a high level of fuel economy, leading to potential cost savings for fleet operators. Its additive mix also features low-ash technology to give an exceptional level of protection for the aftertreatment systems of modern vehicles, such as recirculation systems for exhaust gas, diesel particulate filters, and catalytic converters, helping these components to function more optimally over their lifetime.

When compared to oil with a higher viscosity grade, TITAN CARGO PRO 3977 SAE 5W-20 also offers an excellent level of wear protection. Other benefits include enhanced foaming behaviour and superb oxidation stability.

As the M 3977 specification is not backward compatible, FUCHS recommends servicing older engines that call for the MAN M 3677 specification with one of its existing high-quality products, such as TITAN CARGO MAXX SAE 5W-30 or TITAN CARGO PRO 3677 SAE 5W-30.
