The last in a series of festive films has been released by oil company and lubricant producer, Petronas.
The film is called “A Gift of Heart”, and seeks to embody the spirit of the New Year season.
Quek Shio, an award-winning director, created the film, which portrays the aspects of appreciation and gratitude to capture the spirit of the season.
Four schoolchildren and their aunt, who is also the caretaker at their school, serve as the subjects for the story. Hannah, Jeff, Alice, and Syazwan leave a mess as they happily play and learn, but an unforeseen incident puts them at odds with their Aunt Cecilia, who carefully tends to the flowers in the school and tidies the school grounds.
With the spirit of a new year in the atmosphere, the friends work together to make up for their misdeeds and plant seeds that symbolise a fresh beginning.
Mohd Fazli Ibrahim, a general manager in communications management at Petronas, said that with the onset of a new year, it is imperative to consider and appreciate the various kind and joyful acts of 2023. He added:
“We hope that our diverse interpretations of the theme ‘Roots of Our Future’ not only entertains but inspires everyone to celebrate our shared connections and cultural diversity. Thank you to everyone who came on this journey with us, and we look forward to progressing into the New Year together.”
