Czech-based company TEDOM, which specialises in combined heat and power (CHP) units based on gas combustion engines, has given global approval to use Texaco HDAX 9500 SAE 40 in its engines.
To establish compatibility and performance, TEDOM conducted a field trial for 2,500 hours on one of its TG 210 G5V TW 87 TEDOM engines, with this being fuelled by natural gas.
The company therefore established that Texaco HDAX 9500 SAE 40 does indeed satisfy the stipulations of rule 61-0-0281.1, which relates to fuel applications based on sewage gas, natural gas, biogas, propane-butane and landfill gas.
Texaco Lubricant’s European Marketing Manager, Ali Redouane, said about the approval:
“TEDOM operates in more than 50 countries across the globe, making it an extremely important customer for Texaco products. This latest approval for our HDAX product is a reflection of the hard work and innovation that our distributor partners and Texaco technical support provide to our customers every day.”
According to Texaco, HDAX 9500 SAE HDAX 9500 SAE 40 is a premium gas engine oil that enables longer drain intervals. It can be applied with catalyst systems, thanks to an additive formulation that is low in phosphorous, while ash levels have been optimised to help control valve recessions and avoid pre-ignition.
HDAX 9500 helps engines to run reliably for longer by controlling deposits on the piston and providing protection against cylinder wear and liner scuff. It also protects against corrosion while minimising the formation of sludge and thickening in the oil.
