Specifically designed to lubricate machinery that processes or packages food, Petronas Grease FG is a modern high-quality, multipurpose NLGI 2 grease based on a polymer thickener and aluminium complex. As incidental contact with food may occur in such settings, this grease meets the NSF H1 guidelines, which were formerly known as the USDA 1998 H1 type.
This smooth, tacky white grease is therefore suitable for a use in a wide range of applications in the processing and packaging aspects of the food industry. Its formulation includes food-safe additives to combat bacteria and handle extreme pressure (EP), as well as other ingredients, such as white oils, which are permitted in lubricants under FDA regulation 21 CFR 178.3570.
Petronas Grease FG can be applied to lubricate the various enclosed anti-friction and journal bearings, cams and slides of both mobile and in-plant equipment where there may be incidental contact with food or sanitary products. Some example applications include canners, peelers, grain-handling machinery, skinning knives, bottlers, dicers, cutters, packagers and wrappers, to name but a few.
Other benefits include superb resistance to water wash-out and spray-off, exceptional load-carrying ability, a balanced performance for a wide variety of equipment, an operating temperature from -20°C to +150°C, very good oxidisation and rust prevention, greater sheer stability and a controlled oil bleed. In addition to being NSF H1 approved, the grease is also halal and kosher certified.
